McLaughlan lives in Renfrewshire Scotland. He was 59 when he was diagnosed in
May 2006. His initial PSA was 12.0 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 9 and he does
not give his staging . His choice of treatment was EBRT (External Beam Radiation
Therapy) plus ADT (Androgen Deprivation Therapy). Here is his story.
Hi.
My name is Dennis I first noticed my urine was red in colour so was at my doctor
within a few days and following digital rectal examination my doctor referred
me to the hospital. There I had eight biopsies taken from my prostate of which
six were diagnosed as being malignant and advanced and aggressive. After having
bone scans the results showed that the cancer was contained within the prostate.
Within a few days I was put on a course of Zoladex implants then I received
42 treatments of radio therapy over a nine week period. There was and still experience
lots off tiredness and a complete lack of sexual function.
So if any gents
would like to speak of their experiences please feel free to get in touch.
Regards.
Dennis
