YANA - YOU ARE NOT ALONE NOW

PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT SITE

BRONZE

Graeme Parker and Cindy live in Melbourne Australia . He was 48 when he was diagnosed in October 2006. His initial PSA was 4.1 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 6 and he was staged T1c. His choice of treatment was Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery). Here is his story:

After a routine blood test with a GP my PSA came back at 4.1 ng/ml. The doctor suggested referral to Urologist for follow up. I was reluctant and I guess a little bit of "I can't have cancer as I don't even feel sick"

The urologist said I had a 30% chance of PC but if so he was almost sure he could cure it.

Went for biopsy October 06, came back 2 of the six samples showed cancer.

In for Prostatectomy four weeks later 14 November 2006.

All went well no incontinence, PSA undetectable at three and nine months. Erectile function still heading in right direction. Viagra helping a little now, nine months later.

Please email if I can help with your experience. Take care all.
