Gregg
Aron and Kathy live in Idaho USA. He was 51 when he was diagnosed in May, 2008.
His initial PSA was 9.3 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 6 and he was staged T1c.
His choice of treatment was Brachytherapy/ EBRT (External Beam Radiation Therapy).
Here is his story.
I went for a check up March 2008. PSA came back at
9.3. Immediately read books, studies, and internet for causes of high PSA and
treatments so felt comfortable with it if I did have cancer. Being armed with
knowledge was a big factor in reducing the punch in the gut factor.
I
knew right off did not want surgery. I found Radiotherapy
Clinics of Georgia and was impressed that they actually kept track of 11,000
plus men to compile cure rates. At my stage I was told of a 94% cure rate.
I
went for seed implant end of Sept. and 3 weeks later had 7 weeks of external beam
radiation. The support in Georgia was amazing. It was a highlight of my life.
My first PSA three months after seed implant was 3.2. With radiation you
have to be patient.
