Jack Anderson and Susan live in Suffolk, England. He was 61 when he was diagnosed
on June 13, 2007. His initial PSA was 24.0 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 7 (4+3)
and he says he was staged T3b, although it is not clear that this was his clinical
staging. His choice of treatment was ADT (Androgen Deprivation Therapy) plus EBRT
(External Beam Radiation Therapy). Here is his story. He is undecided as to his
choice of treatment. Here is his story.
I have only just found your site
having just watched a recording of the programme on the Community Channel, You
are not alone.
First I would like to thank you for such an informative
program and site.
I haven't put my story together yet and would like to
add it in the next few days if that is OK, it would need updating soon anyway.
I
have had a long road of treatment, as there have been other complications, a spinal
problem that has now been treated with surgery, and Paget's Disease of the bone,
which is under continuing treatment, both of which have caused considerable problems
with my diagnosis particularly whether or not the cancer had metastasised, which
fortunately it had not.
I have suffered many of the side effects of the
ADT, and the ones that remain the main issue are, weight gain of 5 ½ stone (77
lb/35 kg), development of breasts, and of course erectile dysfunction.
There
is a lot of detail to add which may be of help to others, so for now I will leave
it until I compiled the full story.
Regards Jack Anderson
