W and Tracey live in the USA. He was
50 when he was diagnosed in September 2006. His initial PSA was 4.8 ng/ml but
he has not given his Gleason Score or staging. it seems that he may have ben staged
T2b or T2c. He is undecided as to what treatment he should have. Here is is his
story:
Hi what a great site just what I need. It's been about a week since my diagnosis.I
know I lack some key information. I will get more today as we are heading to the
Mayo clinic.
My
first urologist suggested R.P surgery both lobes involved.
Hello
friends thought I would share some updated information.
We
were able to meet with my surgeons. This helped put Tracey and me at ease. They
have done thousands of this type of surgery. We decided on radical prostatectomy.
Also
found out my Gleason Score is 3+3. My PSA at original diagnoses was 4.6 ng/ml
my last test up to was 5.6 ng/ml.
Surgery
set for November 18/06, so now we just wait and try to keep our spirits up.
Thanks.
God bless .
Hello
friends thought I would update here.
I
had my surgery Nov.21 all went well my doctor told us cancer confined to my prostate
all else clear. This was no cake walk but its a walk I would take any day to save
my life. So its been over a week I feel better every day am learning to live with
the bag we all know what I mean.
Terry Bless you and my other brothers the letters of this site YANA pretty much
says it all.
Updates
later, jw.
Well
its been about fifteen months since my surgery. I'm happy to say all has gone
very good. All my post surgery PSA tests have come back undetectable! Amen!
I
can't help but to feel a bit guilty for not posting more updates guess I'm just
living and loving life soooo much.
Back
to my recovery except for some occasional dripping nothing I worry about. In the
other department - most know what I'm talking about - things are getting better
with the help of one of the many meds. (Cialis) back to 90 percent.
Well
my brothers I'll sign off feel free to email any questions.
God
Bless us all. John
Hello
my friends, here's an update on my health. I hope my story can in some way help
you in your own journey.
Just
this past week I had my blood drawn for my yearly PSA. Test results were undetectable
Amen! Three years behind me I still get nervous waiting for the results.
All
other surgery related issues are doing well. I still have to be aware of my bladder,
maybe a drip once in awhile, no pads though.
I'm
sure many of you guys are wondering about sexual performance. I sure did as I
traveled this cancer surgery route. Things are near perfect in this department.
I never hesitate to use the little pill. It's like this - would you rather drive
a four cyclinder or a supercharged v-eight! Well that's my story. Life is good!
I'm
still amazed at how many men are touched by this nasty disease. Hardly a week
goes by that I don't hear of someone being touched in some way by pc, so take
care my friends.
A
special thank you to Terry for keeping this site running! May God Bless.
