PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT SITE

BRONZE

Michael Kelly and Jerrie live in Oklahoma, USA. He was 63 when he was diagnosed in March 2009. His initial PSA was 6.5 ng/ml, but does not state his Gleason Score was or his staging. It seems likely he would have been staged T1c. His choice of treatment was watchful waiting. Here is his story.

I was diagnosed in December 20O8 of possible prostate cancer after my PSA test followed by a biopsy in March of 2009.

After meeting with two different Urologists I decided on watchful waiting. This website has been helpful in my decision making.

I have recently seem my Primary care Physician and was given a blood and urine examination. I have a bladder infection and my PSA is 7.3. I am presently waiting to hear from my Urologist. I am also dealing with Rheumatoid Arthritis. The medications that I take for it lower my blood count making me anaemic. At this time I am still in a watchful waiting mode.

Your site has given me several questions to ask of my Urologist. Thank You.

UPDATED

August 2009

I recently went for a PSA test on Tuesday 18 August and today Thursday 20 August I was informed by my Doctors nurse via telephone that my PSA was at 13.5 and the Doctor wants to see me for consultation. I have to call them tomorrow to set up an appointment. I am hoping to get some feedback from others regarding this level of PSA.
