BRONZE
Ron Ron and Nina live in Oregon, USA. He was 55 when he was diagnosed in April 2005. His initial PSA was 2.7 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 6 and he was staged T1c. His choice of treatment was Radical Prostatectomy. Here is his story.

I had a radical prostatectomy two and a half years ago (May, 2005). My Gleason Score was 3+4. There was no seminal vesicle invasion, the pathological staging was pT3a with 75% of the right lobe was involved, 10% of the left. Margins were clear but extraprostatic extension was present, lymph nodes were clear, high grade PIN (Prostatic Intraepithelial Neoplasia) was present, carcinoma was within 1mm of the margins.

Recurrence identified Nov, 2007 - PSA was 0.34. I began IMRT (Intensity- Modulated Radiation Therapy) on December 7 2007, (Tomotherapy machine) for salvage radiation treatment.

Ron's e-mail address is: smithrb41@comcast.net
