BRONZE

Ronald Mitchell and Maurine live in United States. He was 52 when he was diagnosed on October 21, 2008. His initial PSA was 5.2 ng/ml, his Gleason Score 7 was and he was staged T1c. His choice of treatment was Robotic Surgery. Here is his story.

I choose the Da Vinci Robotic at University Of Michigan.

Surgery was done January 9, 2009 by David P Wood. Prostatectomy took about two hours. I stayed overnight came home the next day with a leg bag. I was off work for 8 weeks.

My catheter came out after ten days. I did need to be re-catheterised for one extra week. After the catheter came out I started Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation. U of M set this up and I highly recommend it. I was done wearing pads after a month and a half. Pelvic Floor Rehab helped to strengthen my bladder. And for sex the orgasm is better now than before surgery and I have a hard penis without taking Viagra but I did use it in the beginning for about two weeks. My PSA was checked in March of 09 - 0.01 ng/ml

Having a Great Wife By My Side taking care of me really helped my recovery and where I am today!! God Bless Her!!
