PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT SITE

Sam Fullerton and Marcia live in Canada. He was 67 when he was diagnosed in November 2002. His initial PSA was 7.5 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 3+3=6 and although he does not state his staging it seems likely that it was T1c. His choice of treatment was EBRT (External Beam Radiation Treatment). Here is his story.

After the initial shock of being told I had cancer, I spent several weeks learning as much as I could from Don Cooley's website and library books. A second biopsy showed a Gleason Score of 3+4=7 so I chose radiation as treatment.

PSA in May/03 was 8.5
Treatment finished Oct/03
PSA in Oct/04 2.5
PSA Apr/06 0.93
PSA Apr/07 1.8
PSA Aug/07 1.3

Only side effects are minor blood in stool and some fatigue. Colonoscopy showed slight redness of colon near prostate. No polyps.

UPDATED
