Stephen K and Pauline live in Victoria Australia. He was 48 when he was diagnosed
in November, 2008. His initial PSA was 2.4 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 6 and
although he does not state his staging it seems likely that he was staged T1c.
His choice of treatment was Robotic Laparoscopic Surgery. Here is his story.
My
story begins five years ago when I first started getting blood tests for general
health, mainly PSA and cholesterol. Having family history was the main incentive
for checking up on PSA.
A change in PSA from 0.8 to 2.4 prompted my GP
to take further action. A biopsy found one small sample positive. Arraignments
were made for the operation in early January with the Robotic surgery.
Recovering
well now after a delay.
