William John C and Cindy Faye live in Pennsylvania, USA. He was 61 when he was diagnosed in 2007. His initial PSA was 48.0 ng/ml, but he does not give his Gleason Score or how he was staged . His choice of treatment was Hormone and X Ray [ADT (Androgen Deprivation Therapy) and EBRT (External Beam Radiation Treatment)]. Here is his story.

I am Native American and live with every one else here on Turtle Island.

I am going to the local pharmacy in just a moment to have my Casodex 50 mg tablets, one a day for 28 days. This marks the beginning of my treatment.

My current Treatment is as above, except the Casodex tablets were discontinued by the Physician according to protocol. Pending continued low PSA scores, another Unremarkable Bone Scan then he will withdraw me from the current regimen. I will continue the IV Zometa for another year. I am a Cancer Survivor for a year and 3 months. I will see the Oncologist in April and if the laboratory results are within low limits that is when the Treatments stop, as above.

I see the Oncologist every 3 months. I am able to do anything I want to do. I have no restrictions of any kind....except that I am impotent. That condition will improve once I am off the Lupron, though I am told that it may take 4 to 6 months to regain the sex drive. Modern Medical Science is truly amazing.

So far, so good. I hope it will stay that way. There is,obviously,always Hope.

I will update YANA after my visit in April.

I am alive and well. There are no restrictions on me. We enjoy Native American Gatherings, kayaking, hunting, fishing, yard work,etc.

There is one major problem for me...Can't have sex ! No sex for two years so far. Do I want sex more than staying alive and well with a good quality of life ? No. I can and do just about anything I want to do. I have no pain. Overall, not bad for a 64 year old Man. There is nothing else to report for now....

No difference. In December it will be my 3rd year as a Cancer Survivor. I am active and enjoy life.
