Jack
Copland and Edie live in British Columbia, Canada. He was 66 when he was diagnosed
on October 16, 2008. His initial PSA was 4.7 ng/ml, he has not had a biopsy but
assumes he has prostate cancer and is considering HIFU as his choice of treatment.
Here is his story.
Having recently been apprised of my condition by my
GP, I am still awaiting appointment with a urologist for further testing and likely
a biopsy. Based on that feedback I expect to make a decision as to appropriate
treatment.
In the interim, my wife and I have been actively scouring the
internet for information on treatment options with my preference being anything
but radiation and, if possible, something non-intrusive. At this stage I am most
interested in HIFU and experiences of others that have opted for this treatment.
