YANA - YOU ARE NOT ALONE NOW

PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT SITE

BRONZE

Zelig Pinski and Sandra live in New York USA. He was 57 when he was diagnosed on November 7, 2007. His initial PSA was 4.0 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 6 and although he does not give a staging, it seems most likely he would have been staged as T1c.He is undecided as to his choice of treatment. Here is his story.

No story as of yet. I've been very aggressive - hired a patient advocate; had a sit down for one and a half hours with the family GP; had a sit down with urologist; bought Walsh books on prostate cancer; told my whole family.

I need to know what life looks like after surgery or radiation. I need to know what two weeks , three months, one year after procedure looks like

Thank you

Zelig

Had surgery January 23, '08. Today I am semi incontinent. I wear a pad.

It's been seven weeks since my surgery and I am still numb in the area of the incision. The area below the incision is very hard to the touch. I am first starting to get some sensation in my bladder. I wake up approx three or four times a night to urinate not out of need , just training myself.

I have not been able to get an erection when masturbating. I am limp. I miss the sensation of fluid when I do ejaculate. I have spoken with my support group and need to just go thru a mourning stage. it has depressed me for the last two weeks, otherwise I feel well and am looking forward to exercising and getting back in shape .
